The Lionesses opponents at the inaugural World Rugby WX3 competition are now known following the completion of qualification matches this past weekend.
They will compete alongside Colombia, Fiji, Ireland, Kazakhstan and Spain in Dubai over three weekends in October this year. Spain lost their European playoff,going down 23-0 to Italy who qualified for WXV2 taking place in Cape Town.
WXV is a new three-tier annual global women’s international 15s competition that is intended to revolutionize the women’s international rugby landscape, providing for the first time a meaningful pathway for all unions and a competitive springboard towards an expanded 16-team Rugby World Cup in 2025.
