Shujaa Begin Preparations for European Championship Legs
The Kenya National Men’s Sevens team, Shujaa, have reported to camp at the Kasarani Stadium as preparations intensify for the upcoming legs of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series in Europe.
A total of 18 players have checked into camp, as the technical bench sharpens its focus ahead of the crucial tournaments. The technical bench will also include Chris Brown, who joins the set-up to strengthen the team’s high-performance program when in camp.
Shujaa will be gearing up for back-to-back assignments, starting with the Valladolid leg set for 29th-31st May in Spain, followed by the Bordeaux leg in France scheduled for 5th-7th June.
The team is expected to remain in residential camp until 13th May, after which they will break camp briefly before departing for Spain the following week.
Shujaa heads into the European leg with confidence, having secured a 7th-place finish in the opening round of the Championship held in Hong Kong. Shujaa wrapped up their Hong Kong campaign with an impressive 21-7 victory over France in the 7th-place playoff.
