The third leg of the KRU Women’s Festival kicks off on Sunday 3rd March at the RFUEA Grounds from 9:00am. As it stands, the Impala ladies are topping the standings table with 41 points having made it to the first two finals, losing the first and winning the second. They are followed by Top Fry Nakuru ladies who have 36 points.

Impala ladies are seeded first in Pool A where they are joined by Shamas and Kisumu Ladies. Kisumu ladies bagged their first win in the festival in the second leg when they saw off Comras 7-0 at the KCB Sports Club Ruaraka. The ladies shared their joy in achieving this milestone as it’s a sign of improvement in their performance.

Pool B hosts Mwamba Ladies, Northern Suburbs and Comras. Mwamba finished as runners up in the second leg of the Festival, Northern Suburbs came in fifth while Comras were eighth. Homeboyz ladies, Nakuru ladies and Bladbabes make up Pool C.

At the conclusion of the second leg, Kenya Lionesses’ Internationals Sheila Chajira and Janet Okello picked up the individual accolades. Chajira was the top try scorer while Okello picked up the most points.  Sheila of Homeboyz rugby goes top of the try scoring chat. The lioness skipper has been on form, with big carries and big hits and it was no surprise she topped the try scoring chat. Sheila is known for her ability to set an attacking platform for her team mates through her big carries and ability to contest rucks. ”I’m actually surprised that i topped the chat in the second leg, I must say I owe it to the team as it was a team work, and am glad I played my part” said sheila. She has scored a total of 6 tries ,followed by her lioness compatriot and try scoring machine Janet Okello (Mwamba) , Marion Atieno (SRF) each with 5 tries, Stellah Wafula (Impala).

Janet Okello of Mwamba topped the point scoring chat in the second leg of the women 10 A-side festival with a total of 29 points. She is closely followed by Phila Orlando of Northern Suburbs and Stellah Wafula (Impala) with 26 points each.
