The 2022/23 season will go down as one of the better ones for Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad.

With just two games of the regular season still to play, they are closer to the playoff slots than they are to the relegation zone, a break from their previous campaigns in the top tier.

Currently ranked fifth on the log, they play at home to another varsity side, Masinde Muliro, who are bottom of the table in what has been a nightmare campaign for the Kakamega based side.

Masinde Muliro, with just the one win all season, must win at the intimidating Kenyatta University if they are to keep their chances of survival in the Kenya Cup alive.

The two sides both registered losses last weekend, Blak losing 36-8 away to Kenya Harlequin as Masinde Muliro lost 27-23 at home to Nakuru, a result that leaves them clutching at straws with the games running out thick and fast.

Last season’s beaten finalists, Menengai Oilers are out to bounce back from last weekend’s 62-15 home defeat to KCB. They take on the plucky Catholic Monks who are keen on maintaining their Kenya Cup status.

Mwamba host Kenya Harlequin at the RFUEA Ground while Nakuru host Homeboyz in Nakuru.
