Chipu kicks off their World Rugby U20 Trophy campaign tonight, Tuesday 9th July at 11:00pm EAT against Uruguay in the third match of the tournament’s first day and the second Pool A match.

Head Coach Paul Odera has named a formidable side that faces Uruguay in this encounter.

Andrew Peter Siminyu makes who’s been in the set for the last two years, makes his maiden appearance for Chipu this evening after missing out on the Barthes Cup due to academic commitments. Siminyu partners with Captain Bonface Ochieng and tight head prop Rotuk Rahedi in the front row. Emanuel Silungi who’s solidified his spot in the second row has been paired up with Frank Aduda while James Mcgreevy, Brian Amaitsa and Sheldon Kahi complete the backrow.

Vice Captain Samuel Asati and Michele Brighetti make up the ever so exciting half back pairing as John Okoth links up with Dominic Coulson as the starting centers. Barthes Cup Man of the match Andrew Matoka is joined by Geofrey Okwach and Jeff Mutuku completing Chipu’s back three.

“We are ready for the match and we will ensure we won’t disappoint since we’d like to proceed to the next stage and we’ll do our best to ensure that happens.” said Captain Bonface Ochieng

From remaining eleven players, the management is free to use any eight players as their finishers.
