The lakeside city of Kisumu plays host to the opening round of the 2023 National Sevens Circuit, the Dala 7s, next weekend (1st – 2nd July) at the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium at Mamboleo.

This tournament, which is hosted by Kisumu RFC and has been played since 2003 with breaks between 2006 -2008 due to logistical challenges, and again between 2020-2021 due to the COVID19 pandemic.

KCB is the most successful sides, having won 4 titles, Mwamba and Homeboyz are on 3 titles with Kenya Harlequin and Nakuru on 2 titles while Impala Saracens, Strathmore Leos and the defunct military side Ulinzi each have 1 to their name.

The Kenya Rugby Union is expected to release the Dala 7s draw and order of play in a subsequent communication.

Meanwhile, the tournament organizers have confirmed ticket prices for the event with VIP tickets retailing at Ksh 1000 per day while regular tickets are Ksh 500 per day and are available online from Tiko Hub, www.tikohub.co.ke
