Shujaa started their Dubai 7s campaign with a 14-7 Pool B defeat to the USA at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai, UAE on Friday 26 November 2021.
It was the USA who took the lead at the close of a tight first half, Steve Tomasin scoring and converting his own try for a 7-0 lead at the interval.
Second half replacement Daniel Taabu left Folau Niua for dead, his break gaining crucial ground for Shujaa. Perry Baker’s tackle mattered little as Herman Humwa was on hand to claim the loose ball, barging over with Taabu converting to level the scores.

Logan Tago fended off Levy Amunga, running straight down the right flank to score with Tomasin converting to see the USA retake the lead, 14-7 with 3.38 to play, a lead that they held until full time.
