Central Girls Regional 7s were held at Nanyuki Sports Club on the 1st of June 2019. This was the fourth edition of the festival which was first held in 2015, attracting 196 girls.

Daraja Academy won 2015 & 2017 edition, while Loise Nanyuki girl’s secondary school won the 2016 edition with no competition being held in 2018.

Little known Nanyuki Garrison Secondary School were crowned 2019 champions with Daraja Academy coming in as the first runners up. Daraja Academy who are two times champions of central region were forced to settle for position two after they were overwhelmed by Nanyuki Garrison Secondary School in the finals.

The quarter finals saw Daraja Academy, Inoro Secondary, Gatero Girls High, Ndururi Secondary School, Moi Equator Girl’s secondary, St Anne Gathumbi Secondary, Kalalu Secondary and Nanyuki Garrison battle it out for the semis slot.

The fifth place final saw Gatero girls high beat Kalalu secondary, both teams had edged out Inoro Secondary and St. Anns Gathumbi Secondary in the fifth place semifinals.

Ndururi Secondary clinched the third place after beating Moi equator. Both team had lost in the semis to Daraja Academy and Nanyuki Garrison Secondary respectively.

The final was an exciting encounter between Daraja Academy and Nanyuki garrison secondary. Daraja Academy were expected to win the encounter due to their experience but that was not to be as Nanyuki garrison secondary proved to be a better side and scored three unanswered tries to lift the title.

Most Valuable Player went to Linda Kagweri of Ndururi Secondary School, Top Try Scorer went to Margaret Wangare of Nanyuki Garrison Secondary School and the Top Point Scorer went to Juster Muthoni of Daraja Academy.
