South Africa’s Egon Seconds and Zimbabwe’s Precious Pazani will take charge of next weekend’s Elgon Cup fixtures in Kisumu.

Seconds, a former South Africa Sevens speedster and the first South African player to transition to Super Rugby officiating will oversee the day’s marquee fixture between Kenya and Uganda at 4.00pm at the Mamboleo Showground. Their appointments have been confirmed by Rugby Africa.

He has previously officiated in Kenya, taking charge of the Kenya- Hong Kong test match at the RFUEA Ground on 20 August 2017. He was also in charge of the Rugby Africa Gold Cup match between Kenya and Zimbabwe in Bulawayo, a game that the Kenyans won 41-22 on Saturday 22 July 2017 as well as last year’s Gold Cup clash between Kenya and Namibia in Windhoek on Saturday 18 August 2018, a game the Namibian won 53-28 to qualify for the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Pazani, one of Africa’s premier female match officials will be in charge of the women’s Elgon Cup clash which kicks off at 1.30pm at the same venue. She recently took charge of April’s Rugby Africa Barthes Cup final between Kenya U20 and Namibia U20 in Nairobi, a game that the Kenyans won 21-18 to qualify for the 2019 World Rugby Junior Trophy taking place in Brazil from 9th to 21st July this year.
