Shujaa wrapped up their #NZSevens Day one campaign on a high note beating France 19-15. Captain Jacob Ojee was the first on the scoreboard with a coast to coast try giving Shujaa a 5 point lead that was followed by some lovely footwork by Olindi that resulted to a try and conversion.

Between the two Kenya Tries, France managed to dot down once with the conversion sailing wide for the half time scores to read 12-5 in favour of Shujaa. Second half, Daniel Taabu side stepped his way into the try box extending Shujaa’s lead into to 19-5 after a successful conversion. France then landed two quick corner post tries that brought them within touching distance but the wide conversions saw Shujaa maintain the four point lead at full time.

Earlier, Shujaa lost 29-10 to South Africa and 19-10 to Scotland. Two losses that dropped them into the Challenge Trophy. They will play Tonga at 00:22am on 27th January in the Second Challenge Trophy quarter final.
