Two losses on day one saw Shujaa battling to stay in cup contention in Canada 7s action at the BC Place in Vancouver on Saturday morning.

Needing to win at least one of their opening two fixtures, Shujaa started with a 12-31 loss to Fiji in their Pool C opener. Herman Humwa and Alvin Otieno were Shujaa try scorers with Tony Omondi striking home one conversion.

This was followed by a 12-26 loss to Great Britain, a match that saw Kevin Wekesa and Edmund Anya touch down as Omondi added a conversion.
