The Kenya Rugby Union is thrilled to reveal the esteemed Technical Bench that will lead and prepare the Kenya Men’s Sevens National Team for the upcoming Olympic qualifiers in Zimbabwe. As we embark on this crucial journey, we are delighted to introduce the talented individuals who will guide our team’s quest for excellence.

Taking the reins as the Kenya Men’s Sevens National Team Head Coach, we proudly present Kevin Wambua, a highly experienced and dedicated professional who brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role. He will be serving in this position on a full-time basis until the end of the Olympic qualifiers to ensure our team reaches the pinnacle of performance.

Kevin Wambua’s first assignment at the helm will be the prestigious Rugby Africa 7s in Zimbabwe on 16/17 September. This year’s event holds even greater significance as it serves as the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifier, adding an extra layer of importance to our team’s performance.

Working alongside Coach Kevin Wambua, the Kenya Rugby Union is pleased to welcome the following exceptional individuals to the Technical Bench:

  • Louis Kisia (Assistant Coach)
  • Steve Sewe (Team Manager)
  • Lameck Bogonko (Team Physio)
  • Andrew Amonde (Strength & Conditioning Coach)
  • Chris Brown (Consultant, Strength and Conditioning Coach)
  • Eric Ogweno (Team Liaison)

The collective expertise and dedication of this talented Technical Bench will undoubtedly be the driving force behind our team’s pursuit of Olympic qualification and success. Their commitment to fostering a culture of excellence aligns perfectly with the core values of the Kenya Rugby Union.
