Pass It Back Season 2 officially came to a close at Chavakali High School in Vihiga County, marking the end of six months of growth, learning, and rugby development.
The end-of-season tournament brought together 445 children across 29 teams, with girls accounting for 17 teams and boys 12 teams. The event celebrated not only rugby talent but also the life skills and values that participants have gained throughout the program.
Delivered through a partnership between the Kenya Rugby Union, ChildFund Rugby, and Rugby Africa, Pass It Back continues to use rugby as a tool for empowerment, equipping young people with essential skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication, and confidence.
The program's impact has also extended beyond the players. More than 20 newly recruited coaches have benefited from continuous training and mentorship, helping them develop both on-field and off-field skills that will enable them to positively influence young athletes and their communities.
In the girls' competition, Rugby Warriors emerged as champions ahead of Lionesses and Brave Hearts. In the boys' category, Pioneers claimed top honours, followed by Samaritans and Cheetahs.
The successful conclusion of Season 2 highlights the continued growth of the initiative and its ability to create meaningful change through sport. With hundreds of young athletes and a growing pool of community coaches empowered through the program.
