Spread the word!

Saturday 27th May 2017- The day RFUEA grounds filled up to the brim. The cheering fans were chock-a-block in the stands; they were there, over 6,000 in number, to support the rugby XVs team; Kenya Simbas.

It was the day rugby fans showed their love for the game. The atmosphere was awash with anticipation and excitement. The Kenyan spirit of loyalty and patriotism was evident from the way the fans sang the national anthem, and the way they cheered our boys on.

Despite the 29-30 loss to Germany, the fans all agreed that the Simbas had put up a spirited fight. Being in the lead for the better part of the game, the team played with much enthusiasm.

This time for the first time ever, Rugby fans were treated to a Half Time Show by Mayonde and the Tusker dancers.

Moreover, there was a village where fans could buy food and drinks as well as meet and interact with other fans. The Ultimate experience was the after party by Tusker. The night unfolded pretty well into the wee hours of the morning as fans danced the night away. Without a doubt, this was the perfect Saturday afternoon hangout.

The match would not have been were it not for the sponsors who took up roles to ensure the ultimate fan experience. We give it up to our sponsors who included; the Official Test Match sponsor @TatuCity, the Headline Partner @Sportspesa, other sponsors including @Tusker, #Dasani, @Zuku responsible for the live stream, @Safaricom and @Isuzu.

The suppliers who made it worthwhile ensuring that fans were well fed and rehydrated. To the sound and music providers, to the media who showed up to cover the event and above all to the fans that turned up in large numbers, we say a big THANK YOU!

With the rugby fever already on, we endeavor to make a Bigger and Better come back on the 24th June at the RFUEA grounds where Kenya XVs play Uganda Cranes in the Elgon Cup. June 10th is also an opportunity for fans to travel to Uganda to cheer on the Kenyan team as they face the Uganda Cranes at the Legends Rugby Grounds. Lets continue to rally behind them and support them as they shine our star brighter!

This time our hashtag is #ElgonCup #KenyaVsUganda. Get in the conversation.
