Kenya Lionesses Name 28-Player Squad for Rugby Africa Women’s Cup

The Kenya Lionesses coach has today named a 28-woman squad that will represent the country at the upcoming Rugby Africa Women’s Cup set to take place in Nairobi from 21st to 31st May.

Speaking after unveiling the squad, the coach expressed confidence in the team’s preparations and ambitions heading into the continental showpiece.

“We are heading into the tournament with one clear objective, to finish at the top. However, we will take each game one at a time and will not take any opponent for granted,” he said.

The Rugby Africa Women’s Cup brings together some of the top women’s rugby nations on the continent and serves as a crucial pathway for African teams seeking qualification to global competitions, including the Women’s Rugby World Cup. The tournament is expected to showcase high-level competition while further promoting the growth of women’s rugby across Africa.

The Kenya Lionesses squad features a blend of experienced internationals and exciting young talent, including eight debutants who have earned their maiden national team call-ups.
