The 2025/26 Kenyan rugby season officially came to an end with the final whistle of the Enterprise Cup Final on 30th May 2026, bringing the curtain down on another competitive and memorable campaign across the country's leagues and cup competitions.

With all league and knockout competitions concluded, the final standings, champions, promotions, and relegations for the season have now been confirmed.

Kenya Cup

Kabras Sugar RFC once again demonstrated their dominance on the domestic scene, finishing the season as the 2025/26 Kenya Cup Champions. At the other end of the table, Kisumu RFC and MMUST RFC were relegated to the Championship League ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Their places in the top tier will be taken by Mwamba RFC and JKUAT Cougars, who earned promotion following impressive campaigns in the Championship League.

Eric Shirley Shield

Menengai Oilers II were crowned the 2025/26 Eric Shirley Shield champions after a strong season that saw them emerge as the top side in the competition.

Championship League

Mwamba RFC capped off a successful season by securing the 2025/26 Championship League title and sealing their return to the Kenya Cup.

Meanwhile, USIU-A Martials and Western Bulls were relegated to their respective Nationwide regional leagues. Replacing them in the Championship League for the 2026/27 season will be AP Warriors and Kenya Prisons, both of whom secured promotion after impressive performances in the Nationwide competitions.

Cup Competitions

Kabras Sugar RFC successfully defended their Enterprise Cup title, further cementing their position as one of the country's premier rugby clubs.

JKUAT Cougars also retained the Mwamba Cup, while Mwamba Women Rugby Team continued their dominance in the women's game by successfully defending the Kenya Cup Women title.

Summer Transfer Window Officially Opens

With the season now concluded, attention shifts from the pitch to player recruitment and squad building ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

In accordance with the Kenya Rugby Union Regulations, the Summer Transfer Window officially opens on 8th June 2026 and will close on 10th July 2026.

During this period, clubs will have the opportunity to strengthen their squads through player registrations and transfers as they prepare for the upcoming season. All clubs are encouraged to take full advantage of the registration window and ensure that all transfer and registration processes are completed within the stipulated timelines.

Clubs are further advised to comply with all applicable regulations governing player movement and registration to avoid any administrative challenges ahead of the new season.
