Day one in Valladolid proved challenging for Shujaa, as they suffered defeats in both of their opening matches.
In their first fixture against Australia, Shujaa put up a spirited performance in a tightly contested encounter that stretched into extra time. Shujaa showed great determination throughout the match, with Asati and Odongo crossing over for the team’s two tries. However, Australia edged out Shujaa in extra time to secure a 15-10 victory.
The second match saw Kenya face their African rivals, South Africa. Despite showing resilience, Shujaa were unable to break through South Africa’s defense The South Africans went on to claim a 14-0 win over Kenya.
Shujaa now switch focus to the next game against Great Britain, tomorrow at 2:01 PM.
