The RFUEA Grounds played host to an exciting day of school rugby on 7 July as Kisii School, Dollar Academy from Scotland, and Mombasa Sports Club went head-to-head in a series of competitive fixtures.

The matches marked another important stop in Dollar Academy’s Kenyan tour, providing valuable international exposure for the visiting Scottish side while giving Kenyan schools an opportunity to test themselves against different styles of play.

The opening encounter saw Dollar Academy take on Mombasa Sports Club in a tightly contested fixture. After a cagey first half that ended goalless, both teams returned from the break with renewed energy as they searched for the breakthrough. Dollar Academy eventually edged the contest, securing an 8-10 victory in a closely fought encounter.

The second fixture of the day featured Kisii School against Upperhill School, with both sides using the match as part of their preparations ahead of upcoming competitions. Kisii School produced a strong performance, dominating proceedings to claim a convincing 24-0 victory after leading 14-0 at halftime.

The fixtures provided a valuable platform for player development, allowing teams to gain experience in high-intensity matches while strengthening rugby links between schools locally and internationally.

Dollar Academy’s Kenyan tour continues to highlight the growing opportunities for rugby exchanges, with visiting teams gaining exposure to Kenyan rugby culture while local schools benefit from competing against international opposition.
