The wait is almost over as the 2026 SportPesa National Sevens Circuit gets underway with the 17th edition of the Prinsloo 7s, set to take place on 25th and 26th July at the Nakuru Athletics Club.This year's opening tournament will feature 40 teams spread across three competitions, with 16 teams in Division One, 16 teams in Division Two, and eight teams in the Women's category.
The Division One competition will see perennial contenders Kabras Sugar RFC headline Pool A, where they will face Kenya Harlequin, Mwamba RFC, and Embu RFC.Pool B features an exciting university battle, with Strathmore Leos, Daystar Falcons, MMUST RFC, and Kisumu RFC being the only side that is not a varsity side.
In Pool C, defending champions KCB Rugby have been drawn alongside CUEA Monks, Nondescripts RFC, and NYS Spades, while Pool D pits Menengai Oilers, hosts Nakuru RFC, Impala RFC, and Blak Blad RFC.
The newly formatted Division Two competition will also get underway with 16 teams divided into four pools. Pool A comprises Makueni Ravens, KCA University, Kabarak University, and NYS Scorpions. Pool B features Zetech Oaks, MKU Thika, Nandi Bears, and UOE Trojans, while Pool C consists of Homeboyz Rugby, Northern Suburbs, Kitale Rugby, and Egerton Wasps. Pool D will see AP Warriors, Stallions Rugby, Eldopoly Community, and Molo Rugby Club.
The Women's competition will feature eight teams divided into two pools. Pool A includes Mwamba RFC, Impala RFC, NYS Ladies, and Nakuru Women, while Pool B consists of Northern Suburbs, Kenya Harlequin, Kiambaa Ladies, and Pioneer Ladies.
